Roasting in the producing countries means intensive cooperation between the roaster and the farmers - on eye level and in the local language.

So, we develop the most authentic coffees, 100% produced in the country of origin.

ADDED VALUE IN THE COFFEE INDUSTRY

TODAY: While the farmers produce the coffee beans through months of work, the most significant increase in value is generated through roasting. However, the roasting process occurs in industrial countries and, therefore, outside the production countries. As a result, 90% of the growing countries are dependent on financial aid, even though coffee is the most traded agricultural product worldwide.

TOMORROW: We believe that a collective of coffee roasters from Africa, together with committed coffee fans, can move this imbalance in a meaningful direction. That is why we work closely with the most talented coffee roasters in Africa to keep the entire added value, including roasting, in the countries of origin. Quality comes first. Our first limu coffee product was rated "EXCELLENT" by the Swiss Coffee Quality Institute and is therefore already one of the best 1% of all coffees in the world.

Frequently asked questions:

Why do you roast in the country of origin? Isn't that too difficult?

Admittedly, the regulatory processes are significantly more complex, but every import is worthwhile. Because roasting and packaging in the country of origin increase the value that stays in the country by at least 300%. In this way, the economy in developing countries is sustainably strengthened.

What about the quality?

We only buy the very best beans and work with talented coffee roasters. They have years of experience in handling specialty coffees and gently roast them in drum roasters.

What about the freshness?

The coffee is roasted 24 hours before departure and is 48-72 hours later in our central warehouse in Germany. From there, the coffee is sent to the end consumer by DHL or DPD.

By the way, coffee takes 10-20 days after roasting to develop its full flavor profile.

What about the environment?

We are climate-neutral ( see here )!
