What characterizes specialty coffee?

Specialty coffee is fundamentally different from conventional coffee. The beans are selected according to the strictest criteria and receive a rating of at least 80 points on the international scale. Only the best beans make it to be called specialty coffee. What makes it special is the great care with which it is grown, processed and roasted. Every sip brings out complex flavors, from fruity notes to nutty and chocolate nuances. At Coffee Annan, our specialty coffees come from regions known for their exceptional quality and sustainable farming methods.

Specialty coffee is coffee that has a high quality in terms of cultivation, harvesting, processing and taste. Only beans that achieve at least 80 out of 100 points in a strict evaluation process are considered "specialty coffee".

Specialty coffee is characterized by its special origin, cultivation methods and careful processing. Unlike regular coffee, only the best beans are used, resulting in a clearer, more intense and nuanced flavor profile.

Our specialty coffee comes from various growing regions in East Africa, including agroforestry projects. We work directly with coffee farmers to guarantee the highest quality.

Direct trade means that we work directly with the coffee farmers, without middlemen. This allows us to pay higher prices, control the quality and ensure fair conditions.
